Ros Green is the Superintendent of Mineral Waste Management for Rio Tinto’s Iron Ore mines. She has been working with mineral waste in Rio Tinto for the last 12 years and this involves all aspects from exploration, operations and mine closure. Ros and her team have been instrumental in the pro-active identification of mineral waste risks and subsequent management strategies within Rio Tinto Iron Ore. Ros has also supported mineral waste studies for mineral sand mines and AMD audits of coal operations. She completed a PhD in Civil and Environmental Engineering that involved building several passive and active treatment systems to treat acid sulfate soil drainage. Prior to that Ros worked for Government, Local Government and Consultancies.

Ros has a particular interest in Research and Development and would like to see greater collaboration between companies and groups working with AMD in the future.
