Dr Hugh Davies

Hugh Davies is the Principal – Geochemistry at Newmont Corporation, where he leads the technical implementation of mine waste and water management strategies across the company’s global gold and copper operations. He specializes in the use of advanced materials characterization techniques to predict water quality impacts and integrate effective mitigation measures into mine planning and closure designs.
Mr. Davies represents Newmont on several key industry and research bodies including the Operating Committee of the International Network for Acid Prevention (INAP), the Technical Committee of the GeoStable Tailings Consortium, and the Steering Committee for CRC TiME Project 3.10. Through these roles, he contributes to advancing best practices in environmental geochemistry and sustainable mining.
